New Year's Eve at Corozo Blue's

Word of mouth got to us, we made reservations for turkey dinner at Corozo Blue's - www.corozoblues.com This restaurant sits at the southern "entrance" to Corozal, right on the Bay.

Promising entertainment by Bill Williams, a Canadian country singer, and Dusty Roads, a retired DJ from Hollywood turned band leader, we struck out for a night on the town! Dinner was served at 8 p.m.-chips and salsas (including hummus!), salad, eggplant compote, 3 warm appetizers (not sure what they were--middle eastern flair--but yummy!), and then turkey dinner was served: a healthy portion of turkey, dressing, mango sauce, cranberry sauce, rice and black beans.

The clientele was expat, some we have met, others were new faces to us. By 10 p.m. the restaurant had cleared out. We found out that most of the expats are "in bed by 9 every night." We have found that to be true of ourselves as well, up with the sun (light o'clock) and in bed at dark o'clock. But it was New Year's Eve, so we sang Auld Lang Syne with the band--and then they immediately began to tear down their instruments, so we left.

Firecrackers exploded throughout the neighborhood--Happy New Year!
